Pre-Conference Training

Getting Your Company Ready for Business Matchmaking

Doing business with the government and large corporations has helped many small companies grow and develop.  Before a small business can compete for such contracts, though, it must jump through a lot of hoops.  In preparation for the Arkansas Procurement Opportunities Conference on April 27, 2010, Arkansas Procurement Assistance Center will be teaching small businesses how to navigate the basics and fulfill eligibility requirements.  Offered at no charge, the training is strongly recommended though not mandatory for companies planning to participate in business matchmaking at the Arkansas Procurement Opportunities Conference.  People who attended last year’s series reported that the preparation workshops really helped them make the best use of the brief matchmaking interviews.

In a small-group, hands-on setting:

• Learn how to select your NAICS and Federal Supply codes
• Register in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) or update
your registration, including the Small Business Profile Section
• Draft your Line Card and other handouts
• Prepare and rehearse a 10-minute presentation of your
company’s capabilities to use in buyer interviews

Pre-Conference training has ended for the 2010 Arkansas Procurement Opportunities Conference.

For information about the procurement training, contact the Arkansas Procurement Assistance Center at 501-337-5355 or apac@uaex.edu.  For information about APAC, visit the website at http://www.arcommunities.org/apac.htm.  All APAC services are free and open to the public but pre-registration for these carefully structured workshops is required.  APAC is a Community and Economic Development program of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture, Cooperative Extension Service.
